Forensic officers have been at the scene of the stabbing in Brixton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was stabbed to death in south London.

The victim, in his 30s, died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services who were called at around 05:05 GMT to Brixton Road, Brixton.

The Metropolitan Police said his family had been informed and a crime scene at the junction with Coldharbour Lane remains in place.

The suspect was arrested at the scene and inquiries are ongoing, the force added.
