Newport County chairman Gavin Foxall has resigned from the board and Supporters’ Trust due to ill health.
Foxall, who has not been present at Newport games since January, first supported interim chairman Tony Pring in 2015 as a member of the board before going on to take up the role himself.
“We would like to place on record our thanks to Gavin for his significant contribution and hard work over the years,” said a club statement.
“We wish Gavin a speedy recovery.”
Foxall leaves in the wake of director Kevin Ward’s decision to step down due to a conflict of interest with Newport Live, where he is chairman.
Newport are currently 16th in League Two, 12 points clear of the relegation zone with nine games left to play.
