The UK’s new prime minister met US President Joe Biden for the first time at the Nato summit. Later they held private talks in the Oval Office. Mr Biden called the US and UK the “best of allies”, saying the UK was “the transatlantic knot” that tied Nato together with its European members.

The writer and activist died last August, a few months after publicly revealing she had stage four kidney cancer. The mural was commissioned by gay rights activist group Arcigay.
