
A woman has been taken to hospital after a fire in Moray.
Emergency services were called to Alba Place in Elgin shortly before 23:20 on Monday.
A 71-year-old woman was taken to the town’s Dr Gray’s Hospital for treatment.
Inquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
Police Scotland said: “We received a report of a fire at Alba Place, Elgin. A 71-year-old woman was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital for treatment. Inquiries are ongoing and a joint investigation will take place with Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS).”
The SFRS said four appliances were sent to the scene of the fire in a ground-floor flat of a two-storey building.
“Crews extinguished the fire and worked to make the area safe before leaving the scene,” a statement said.
