Ellyse Perry has become the first player to take a six-wicket haul in a Women’s Premier League match.<\/span><\/p>\n

Australia all-rounder Perry, 33, took figures of 6-15 from four overs for Royal Challengers Bangalore in a seven-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Perry’s six wickets saw Mumbai bowled out for 113 in Delhi, which Bangalore chased down with five overs to spare.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perry also top scored with the bat for Bangalore with 40 runs off 38 balls as they ended 115-3.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Bangalore star has also become the first player in either men’s or women’s cricket to score 100 runs and record six-wicket hauls in all three formats of the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

Batting first, Mumbai Indians were sitting comfortably on 65-1 before Perry’s flurry of wickets dismissed their batting line-up from number two to seven.<\/span><\/p>\n

Following Perry’s sixth wicket, Mumbai were 82-7.<\/span><\/p>\n

Four of her six wickets were from bowling the batter out, with the other two lbw dismissals. <\/span><\/p>\n

Her list of victims included England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur and New Zealand all-rounder Amelia Kerr.<\/span><\/p>\n

In response, Bangalore initially struggled after falling to 39-3 with Smriti Mandhana, Sophie Molineux and Sophie Devine all dismissed cheaply, but a 76-run partnership off 53 balls between Perry and wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh helped secure a comfortable victory.<\/span><\/p>\n

The previous bowling record in the WPL was set in 2023, the competition’s first year, by South Africa all-rounder Marizanne Kapp who took 5-15 for Delhi Capitals against Gujarat Giants.<\/span><\/p>\n
