{"id":34811,"date":"2024-05-19T07:01:37","date_gmt":"2024-05-19T07:01:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kede.com.br\/news\/hit-me-hard-and-soft-what-makes-billie-eilishs-records-eco-friendly\/"},"modified":"2024-05-19T07:01:38","modified_gmt":"2024-05-19T07:01:38","slug":"hit-me-hard-and-soft-what-makes-billie-eilishs-records-eco-friendly","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kede.com.br\/news\/hit-me-hard-and-soft-what-makes-billie-eilishs-records-eco-friendly\/","title":{"rendered":"Hit Me Hard And Soft: What makes Billie Eilish&#8217;s records &#8216;eco-friendly&#8217;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Each year, the UK&#8217;s vinyl habit is estimated to produce the same amount of emissions as 400 people.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">But Billie Eilish is hoping to change the record with her new album Hit Me Hard and Soft, which came out on Friday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Albums will be pressed on to recycled or eco-vinyl and the packaging will also be made from recycled materials.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">There&#8217;s scepticism about how much difference that can really make when it&#8217;s linked to a huge world tour.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">But Billie is keen not to be the Bad Guy, and has also been praised for drawing attention to sustainability in the music industry. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/music-news\/billie-eilish-vinyl-new-album-sustainability-1235651210\/\" class=\"ssrcss-f6h2dj-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">interview last month<span class=\"visually-hidden ssrcss-1f39n02-VisuallyHidden e16en2lz0\">, <!-- -->external<\/span><\/a>, the singer told Billboard she and her team were doing everything they could to minimise waste &#8220;in every aspect&#8221; of her music.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;My parents have always kept me well informed and hyper-aware that every choice we make and every action we take has an impact somewhere or on someone, good or bad, and that has always stuck with me,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">At a record press in South Wigston, Leicestershire, BBC Newsbeat was offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the process of making records more sustainable. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Factories are so different to when I first started,&#8221; says Karen Emanuel, CEO of vinyl manufacturers Key Production.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Most important are the ingredients.
