Cardiff City have signed Callum Robinson from West Bromwich Albion on a three-year deal for a fee believed to be in the region of \u00a31.5m.<\/span><\/p>\n The Republic of Ireland forward, 27, travelled to the Welsh capital on Thursday for a medical to complete the deal.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n “I’m buzzing. It’s another adventure for me and a challenge I’m looking forward to,” said Robinson.<\/span><\/p>\n “I can’t wait to meet the boys and the staff.”<\/span><\/p>\n Cardiff manager Steve Morison had been in the market for a striker and Robinson is relishing the prospect of playing for him.<\/span><\/p>\n “I spoke with the gaffer and I saw the match against West Brom, and City love playing football,” added Robinson.<\/span><\/p>\n “I love scoring goals and assisting. It’s what I’ve done most of my career. I’m hoping I can do plenty more of that here and to help this team.”<\/span><\/p>\n A number of other Championship clubs had also reportedly been trailing the 27-year-old.<\/span><\/p>\n Morison said: “I’m delighted to have Callum on board. He’s a very talented player, and he can play anywhere across the forward line.<\/span><\/p>\n “He’s coming in to help the squad, and I’m really looking forward to working with him.<\/span><\/p>\n “I’d like to thank Tan Sri Vincent Tan and Ken Choo for their support in bringing Callum to the club.”<\/span><\/p>\n Former Aston Villa trainee Robinson has made six league and cup appearances for West Brom this season without scoring. <\/span><\/p>\n Last season, however, he was on target 14 times for club and country, including scoring against Cardiff City.<\/span><\/p>\n Robinson has plenty of Championship experience with spells at Preston North End and Bristol City, and scored Premier League goals for Sheffield United.<\/span><\/p>\n Cardiff are currently 17th in the Championship with eight points from their seven games so far, but they are the second lowest scorers in the division with four goals.<\/span><\/p>\n Only unbeaten Preston have scored less, with a tally of two. <\/span><\/p>\n Cardiff were <\/span>beaten 2-1 at home by Luton Town<\/span><\/a> on Tuesday night and hope to have Robinson registered and available in time for Saturday’s trip to Millwall.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
