Lt Col Mark Teeton is continuing his recovery at home<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

A soldier stabbed near the barracks he was posted to in Kent has been discharged from hospital, with a trial date set for his alleged attacker.<\/p>\n

Lt Col Mark Teeton, who is in his 40s, was in uniform when he was stabbed in Sally Port Gardens near Brompton Barracks on 23 July.<\/p>\n

Anthony Esan has been charged with attempted murder and is expected to face trial in January.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the 24-year-old’s plea and trial preparation hearing at Maidstone Crown Court was adjourned until 23 September.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Judge Philip St John-Stevens fixed a trial date for 20 January, 2025 – which is expected to last three weeks.<\/p>\n

As well as attempted murder, Mr Esan is also charged with possession of a bladed weapon.<\/p>\n

Kent Police said that Lt Col Teeton is continuing his recovery at home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n
