Strong and gusty winds could bring disruption to parts of Northern Ireland on Thursday.<\/p>\n

A Met Office severe weather warning has been issued from 15:00 GMT on Thursday until 03:00 on Friday.<\/a><\/p>\n

Ahead of the forecast strong winds a number of outdoor festive events have been affected in Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n

The Met Office has warned of large waves and possible flooding along sea fronts and coastal routes.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Road, rail, ferry and air services<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n

It is also expecting some disruption to road, rail, air, and ferry services, as well as some temporary loss of services including electricity supplies.<\/p>\n

Coupled with the winds, some heavy and persistent rain is also expected.<\/p>\n

Westerly or northwesterly winds are forecast to bring gusts between 60-70mph along exposed coastal areas, especially around the North Channel and Irish Sea.<\/p>\n

Inland areas can expect gusts of between 40-50mph, with conditions likely to persist into the evening.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In the Republic of Ireland, wind warnings have been issued for seven counties towards the west coast.<\/p>\n

The Status Yellow warning for Clare, Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, and Donegal lasts from 13:00 GMT on Thursday until 21:00.<\/p>\n

County Kerry is under a yellow warning from noon until 18:00.<\/p>\n

Met \u00c9ireann is warning of difficult travel conditions, as well as falling debris and branches.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
