A murder investigation has been launched into the death of a woman in County Cork, garda\u00ed (Irish police) have said.<\/p>\n
The woman’s body were discovered at a residential property on Bridewell Lane in Mallow on Friday.<\/p>\n
She has been named locally as 31-year-old Paula Canty, originally from Kinsale, and it is understood she had been stabbed in the chest, according to Irish broadcaster RT\u00c9.<\/p>\n
The results of post-mortem examination conducted by Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster, have been released to the investigating team. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
The body of the woman was found in her apartment at the Belfry on Bridewell Lane in Mallow at around midday on Friday after garda\u00ed had received a call alerting them to an incident.<\/p>\n
The apartment remains sealed off after garda technical experts carried out a detailed examination over the past two days.<\/p>\n
An incident room has been set up at Mallow Garda Station and a senior officer has been appointed to lead the investigation.<\/p>\n
Garda\u00ed have renewed their appeal for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam or mobile footage to contact them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
