Wales have called up uncapped Ospreys tight-head prop Ben Warren to the Six Nations squad after WillGriff John was ruled out of the opener against France in Paris on Friday.<\/b><\/p>\n
John, 32, failed a Head Injury Assessment after leaving the field during the first half of Sale Sharks’ 32-23 home English Premiership defeat by Bath<\/a> on Sunday.<\/p>\n John was one of three tight-head props initially named in Warren Gatland’s squad alongside Cardiff’s Keiron Assiratti and Henry Thomas of Scarlets.<\/p>\n Warren, 24, will become the fourth option in the now 35-man squad.<\/p>\n The number three jersey is problematic for Wales with with Bath’s Archie Griffin unavailable following shoulder surgery and Leon Brown having recently retired.<\/p>\n John has not played for Wales since 2021 and, against Bath, was making just his second start for Sale this season with four further replacement appearances.<\/p>\n Assiratti was second choice to Griffin during Wales’ autumn internationals and Thomas was an unused squad member as Wales completed 2024 without a win.<\/p>\n Harlequins prop Dillon Lewis was used as a replacement last Friday in the win against Northampton but has not been included.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
