Forensic officers have been at the scene of the stabbing in Brixton<\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was stabbed to death in south London.<\/p>\n

The victim, in his 30s, died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services who were called at around 05:05 GMT to Brixton Road, Brixton.<\/p>\n

The Metropolitan Police said his family had been informed and a crime scene at the junction with Coldharbour Lane remains in place.<\/p>\n

The suspect was arrested at the scene and inquiries are ongoing, the force added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew and a paramedic in a fast response car.<\/p>\n

“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.<\/p>\n

“The first paramedic arrived in less than one minute.<\/p>\n

“Despite the best efforts of our crews to save his life, a man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Bell Ribeiro-Addy, MP for Clapham and Brixton Hill, posted on X<\/a>: “Deeply saddened to hear that a man was stabbed to death in Brixton in the early hours of this morning.<\/p>\n

“A large stretch of Coldharbour Lane is closed whilst investigations continue, with significant traffic along Brixton Hill as a result.”<\/p>\n

On X, Helen Hayes, MP for Dulwich and West Norwood, posted<\/a>: “I am devastated that a young man lost his life in a stabbing.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
