Emergency services were called to on Barterholm Road in Paisley <\/figcaption><\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Seven people have been taken to hospital after a fire in a ground floor flat in Paisley.<\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to the blaze in the Renfrewshire town’s Barterholm Road at about 23:00 on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Scottish Ambulance Service said seven ambulances, special response teams, paramedics and a trauma team were dispatched to the incident.<\/p>\n

Three patients were taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, two to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow and two to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Two other patients were treated at the scene.<\/p>\n

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said the fire was in a four-storey building. Four fire engines and one height vehicle were sent to the blaze. <\/p>\n

Eight properties were evacuated as a precaution and people affected were provided with alternative accommodation.<\/p>\n

An SFRS spokesperson said: “The fire has been extinguished and one fire appliance remains at the scene.”<\/p>\n

Police Scotland said an investigation was underway to establish the cause of the fire.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n
