A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after two men were killed and another two were injured in a stabbing at a business in south-east London.<\/p>\n

A 58-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene and a 27-year-old man died in hospital following the stabbing on Long Lane in Bermondsey at 13:00 BST on Monday. <\/p>\n

A third man, who in his 30s, is in a life-threatening condition in hospital, the Metropolitan Police said.<\/p>\n

The arrested man, aged 31, is also in hospital although his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening. The victims are believed to have been known to each other, according to officers.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The stabbing is understood to have taken place near consultancy firm Prospira Global and housing provider Trademark Homes.<\/p>\n

Labour MP Neil Coyle, who represents Bermondsey and Old Southwark, described the stabbings as “truly awful” and said it was “a targeted, isolated incident”.<\/p>\n

A resident, who asked not to be named, said: “It’s terrifying. I walk past there all the time – it makes you feel really uneasy.<\/p>\n

“You just don’t expect something like this to happen on a normal weekday.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Det Ch Supt Emma Bond said: “Our thoughts are first and foremost with the family and friends of the victims of this tragic incident. <\/p>\n

“Our investigation continues at pace and we are working hard to understand the full circumstances.”<\/p>\n

Scotland Yard said that “a crime scene is in place at a nearby hotel where the arrested man went into”, adding that he was not staying there.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
