A woman in her 20s from the Faversham area of Kent has died on Christmas Eve following a crash on the M2, police have confirmed.<\/p>\n
Kent Police said officers were called at 12:50 GMT to the scene near the Medway services where a black Volkswagen T-Roc had hit the central reservation barrier before overturning.<\/p>\n
The London-bound carriageway between junctions five (for Maidstone) and four (for Gillingham) was closed for most of the day but reopened shortly before 22:00. <\/p>\n
The force is now appealing for witnesses, including motorists with dashcam footage, to come forward.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
A police spokesperson said there were no passengers in the car and no other vehicles were involved.<\/p>\n
Kent Fire and Rescue Service said three fire engines attended and the woman’s next of kin have been informed.<\/p>\n
A diversion is in place using the A249, M20 and A228. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
