BBC<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\nPolice are searching for a man suspected of stabbing two people in Bangor, County Down on Christmas Eve.<\/p>\n A man in his 20 and a woman in her 50s were injured in the attack and taken to hospital for treatment. Authorities initially said one person was in critical condition.<\/p>\n Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) Ch Insp Rocks said an investigation was under way and “efforts are being made to locate the suspect”.<\/p>\n The public has been warned not to approach the suspect, who police say is 5ft 10 in and armed with a hammer and a knife.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Police described the man as having short, dark hair, and wearing “a blue hoodie, a grey coat, a dark coloured t-shirt, blue jeans, and dark trainers with white soles.”<\/p>\n Ch Insp Rocks urged the public to “create a safe distance and contact police immediately” if they see the man.<\/p>\n The attack on Wednesday happened at around 15:30 GMT in Chippendale Avenue.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In a separate incident, a man was stabbed outside a hotel on the Lurgan Road in Banbridge at about 20:30 GMT on Tuesday.<\/p>\n One of the attackers threw a liquid in the victim’s face.<\/p>\n The injured man attempted to run away, but fell and was then slashed multiple times across his back, before the attackers got into a vehicle and drove off.<\/p>\n Police said the attackers were male and had their faces covered, but it is believed they were driving a black Toyota Avensis.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
