Josh Thewlis, who scored two tries for Warrington, told BBC Radio 5 Live:<\/b><\/p>\n
“It was tough and you can see that by the scoreline. It took us until late in that second half to get up on them.<\/p>\n
“It wasn’t just me changing position – James Bentley went from the back row to the centre and that’s something that will probably be missed, but he did a great job for us.<\/p>\n
“It was disappointing last week [losing to Catalans], we reviewed it in France and we left the game in France. This week was a new challenge for us, Wigan are a great side and we knew it was going to be a big game under the lights.<\/p>\n
“Something we’re working on this year is protecting our home and making that 100% record.”<\/p>\n
Wigan head coach Matt Peet told BBC Radio Manchester:<\/b><\/p>\n
“It was a tough game. [It was] two teams with players out of position and young players in, and ultimately I thought Warrington handled it better than we did.<\/p>\n
“I’m proud of the lads’ effort and commitment, but there will be times that we’ll look back on and wish we could have executed better.”<\/p>\n
On the number of injuries in the squad:<\/i> “We’ll never use it as an excuse. Liam’s hamstring doesn’t look great and he’ll get a scan.<\/p>\n
“We’ve got to cope the best we can and hopefully Liam’s not too bad.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
