The King and Queen have led members of the Royal Family in the annual Royal Week in Scotland.<\/b><\/p>\n
Also known as Holyrood Week, the event takes place in the first week of July, celebrating Scottish culture, community and achievements.<\/p>\n
It began this year with King Charles III taking part in the Ceremony of the Keys at his official Scottish residence – the Palace of Holyroodhouse – and went on to include a formal ceremony at St Giles’ Cathedral and garden party at Holyrood Park.<\/p>\n
The Royal couple then travelled to the Borders where they witnessed the traditional Jedburgh hand ba’ game.<\/p>\n
The week ended with the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, handing out the awards created by his late father Prince Philip, the previous Duke of Edinburgh.<\/p>\n
Recipients of this year’s Gold Award included the current Duke’s daughter, Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor, who earlier in the week graduated from the University of St Andrews. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
