There had been suggestions Cardiff wanted to strengthen up front, out wide and in defence.<\/p>\n
When asked what he would say to any unhappy fans, Barry-Murphy added: “I would always respond to our supporters with the truth – we had an idea of what players we wanted to bring in. It wasn’t possible.<\/p>\n
“I think we still have a lot of very talented young players, very talented young Welsh players predominantly, and any player we do want to bring into the club always has to be with the intention of improving the squad and team.<\/p>\n
“If that’s not possible, I am not a great believer in bringing in players just for the sake of it.”<\/p>\n
The QPR loss, Cardiff’s first in the Championship this season, means the Welsh side are 19th in the table having failed to win any of their four league games so far.<\/p>\n
While Barry-Murphy conceded Cardiff had been short of their best at Loftus Road, he insisted he has “full belief” in the players he has.<\/p>\n
“I think we will do very well, but setbacks like this are part of the journey,” he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
