Dimoldenberg previously told <\/a>the BBC how Chicken Shop Date had grown out of a series of interviews with grime artists she conducted as a teenager for culture magazine The Cut.<\/p>\n “I started Chicken Shop Date as part of a youth club, and we made a magazine, and everything I learned there, the connections I made, the mentoring I got, set me up for the career that I have today,” she said.<\/p>\n Entertainment journalist and Chicken Shop Date fan Megan Bull says the show’s original format helped it to take off.<\/p>\n “I think Amelia has such a good way of putting celebrities at ease and it’s almost by using an anti-interview format. She’s not traditional at all,” says Bull.<\/p>\n It’s led to success beyond YouTube, from red carpets to the big screen, the 28-year-old journalist says. <\/p>\n “It’s just proven that these YouTube shows can really expand and become bigger than anyone even really imagined,” she says.<\/p>\n “Amelia even recently did a cameo in Devil Wears Prada 2. She’s become a celebrity in her own right.”<\/p>\n Bull adds there will be “many” opportinities for the presenter in future. <\/p>\n “A lot of people will be excited to see what she does next.”<\/p>\n Dimoldenberg has also been a vocal supporter of training programmes and apprenticeships to help young people into employment. <\/p>\n Yet success hasn’t come overnight, as she told BBC Newsbeat<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n “Some people think it’s been, like, two years,” she said. <\/p>\n “I spent so much time trying to persuade publicists, managers and talent to come on the show.”<\/p>\n The creator said that in 2014, social media wasn’t seen as the best place to promote a celebrity’s latest album, film or product.<\/p>\n Chicken Shop Date has since gone on to rank alongside platforms like Graham Norton’s chatshow or BBC Radio 1 for celebrities seeking media cut-through, she told The Guardian, external<\/span><\/a> last month.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
