Leaders Celtic signed off for the year with a 4-0 home win against St Johnstone…

John F: It’s difficult, if not impossible, to see any team mount any kind of league challenge. In this mood and with the quality of squad Celtic have we are on a different level to every other Scottish team, frighteningly for the others and with the Champions League in mind we will most probably strengthen in January’s transfer window.

Stephen: This was one of my favourite performances in the league this half season. I thought Alex Valle and Arne Engels were superb, with Paulo Bernardo doing a good job covering for our captain. I still feel that we are a bit off it up front, but it’s more to do with the lack of service to Kyogo Furuhashi, who showed yet again what he can do when he gets a sniff of an opportunity.

John T: Having the luxury of reducing the minutes of some big hitters, all of whom do a lot of running in our system, whilst still picking up three points, four goals and a clean sheet, is outstanding. We go to Ibrox with confidence. With the current form of both sides, it could get messy for Rangers if Celtic take the lead on Thursday.

John M: Another relentless performance from Celtic, the visitors defended well but once the first goal went in it was always going to end one way.

Gordy: A magnificent performance and a magnificent attitude from the players, they played as if they were playing a title challenger and not the team at the bottom, it’s all down to the manager who will not let the standards drop, we need to get his contract sorted out after Ibrox where I believe we will show how big the gap is between us and the rest.

Neil: You have to say the rotation recently has been fantastic. Players sitting out and coming in have all performed brilliantly. It’s a credit to Rodgers and one of the main reasons we have all but won the league. Treat to watch.

It was a tough watch for Saints fans…

Duncan: Not unexpected, nor disappointing. The gulf in resources in Scottish football is for another debate. For Saints there is still clear evidence of better technical players than previous years, but a serious lack of on field leadership and resilience. January will be crucial for additions and hopefully a better balance on the field and in their mindset.

Stuart: Another game, another goal or two conceded by a goalkeeper incapable of coming off his line. Coupled with a multi-year issue of failing to stop crosses then there’s only one outcome. Manager needs backed and backed seriously in two days when the window opens. The sooner we stop gifting goals, the sooner we can start looking up the table.

Glen: I’d say we are doomed. An unbalanced squad with some good players but glaring weakness in defending crosses, nervousness in possession, lack of leadership on the field. Only slight hope is that there are small margins in most games, new blood might tip the balance.

Jimmy: Better score than I predicted, I thought it’d be worse. Still think we need a few players in: another striker, a couple more for each of midfield and defence. As to the game, we were on the back foot most of the game, sadly I think we are really looking like being relegated.

Connor: Same mistakes. Same points gone. What’s new?

Mikey: At least we kept it to four than the reverse fixture at home of six. Three league home games in January that we seriously need to start picking up points. Leaking defence and want-a-way strikers is the best for a real relegation battle, the squad isn’t showing they are up for it.
