Northampton Saints have announced 11 players, including fly-half Charlie Savala, are set to leave the club at the end of the season.
Following the news earlier this month that Burger Odendaal and Temo Mayanavanua will leave Frankin’s Gardens, the club have now confirmed plans of an expanded clear-out following a disappointing domestic defence of their Premiership title.
Savala is the headline player to leave having found appearances hard to come by since his arrival from Edinburgh in November 2023 in competition with England international Fin Smith and George Makepeace-Cubitt.
Versatile back Jake Garside – who scored in Saints’ defeat at Exeter Chiefs on Sunday – Ewan Baker, Toby Cousins and Louis Haley are among those to also depart.
Forwards Callum Hunter-Hill, Beltus Nonleh, Tom Dye, Henry Nanka-Bruce, Kieran Perkins and Nathan Langdon – brother of first-choice Saints hooker Curtis – make up the other players to leave the club.
Northampton currently sit eighth in the Premiership table with two league matches remaining, with their European Champions Cup final against French club Bordeaux Begles in Cardiff in between.
