Henry Patten was among a number of Britons through to the third round of the French Open men’s doubles after victory over compatriot Jacob Fearnley.
Patten and Finland’s Harri Heliovaara, seeded second, beat Fearnley and Canada’s Gabriel Diallo 6-2 6-3.
Having won their first Grand Slam doubles title at Wimbledon last year, the 29-year-old Patten and Heliovaara, 35, are also looking to add to the Australian Open title they secured in January.
Fearnley was competing a day after reaching the third round of the singles at Roland Garros, where he will face fellow Briton Cameron Norrie on Saturday.
British sixth seeds Lloyd Glasspool and Julian Cash also progressed, beating American pair Ryan Seggerman and Learner Tien 7-5 7-6 (7-5).
They are joined in the next round by eighth seeds Neal Skupski and Joe Salisbury, who ousted Argentina’s Guido Andreozzi and France’s Theo Arribage 7-5 6-4.
