Brighton have agreed a deal worth £10m to sign Sunderland winger Tom Watson this summer.
The 18-year-old has scored two goals in 17 appearances for the Black Cats since making his senior debut in April 2023.
Watson has agreed a four-year deal with the Premier League side, starting from when the summer transfer window opens until June 2029.
The teenager will remain with Sunderland, who are in contention for the Championship play-offs, for the rest of this season.
“Tommy is an exciting young talent who we have been tracking for a significant period of time,” said Brighton technical director David Weir.
“He’s had an excellent breakthrough season with Sunderland, and we are looking forward to him joining us in the summer.
“However, for now his full focus is on helping them finish their season as strongly as possible.”
Watson has represented England at both under-17 and under-18 level.
