{"id":12455,"date":"2024-01-18T02:35:47","date_gmt":"2024-01-18T02:35:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kede.com.br\/sport\/dejan-milojevic-golden-state-warriors-assistant-coach-dies-aged-46\/"},"modified":"2024-01-18T02:35:48","modified_gmt":"2024-01-18T02:35:48","slug":"dejan-milojevic-golden-state-warriors-assistant-coach-dies-aged-46","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kede.com.br\/sport\/dejan-milojevic-golden-state-warriors-assistant-coach-dies-aged-46\/","title":{"rendered":"Dejan Milojevic: Golden State Warriors assistant coach dies aged 46"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-hmf8ql-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic has died at the age of 46 after suffering a heart attack, the NBA team has confirmed. <\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Serbian Milojevic fell ill at a private team dinner on Tuesday and was taken to hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WarriorsPR\/status\/1747716439983923592?s=20\" class=\"ssrcss-co0e25-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">The Warriors said<span class=\"visually-hidden ssrcss-1f39n02-VisuallyHidden e16en2lz0\">, <!-- -->external<\/span><\/a> that &#8220;despite life-saving efforts&#8221;, Milojevic passed away late on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Head coach Steve Kerr said his assistant &#8220;brought joy and light to every single day with his passion&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Describing the news as a &#8220;shocking and tragic blow&#8221;, Kerr said Milojevic was &#8220;one of the most positive and beautiful human beings&#8221; he had ever known. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He added: &#8220;We grieve with and for his wife Natasa, and their children, Nikola and Masa. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Their loss is unfathomable.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Writing on X, formerly Twitter, the Warriors added that they are &#8220;absolutely devastated&#8221; by Milojevic&#8217;s sudden passing. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said Milojevic was a &#8220;beloved colleague and dear friend to so many in the global basketball community.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The former professional player joined Golden State in 2021 and was part of the coaching staff that led the Warriors to the NBA championship in 2022. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Milojevic, who was born in Belgrade, was part of the Serbian international team for 14 years and became assistant coach of the national side in December 2019. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">He also had a spell as head coach of KK Buducnost in the Adriatic League in Montenegro before his move to the United States with the Warriors three years ago. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The Warriors were due to play at Utah Jazz on Wednesday, but the NBA postponed the game when the news of Milojevic&#8217;s medical emergency was released.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/sport\/basketball\/68012808\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Golden State Warriors assistant coach Dejan Milojevic has died at the age of 46 after suffering a heart attack, the NBA team has confirmed.
