Coco Gauff stormed past Romanian qualifier Anca Todoni to move into the third round of Wimbledon.<\/b><\/p>\n
The second seed entertained the crowd under the roof on Court One with big hitting to earn a 6-2 6-1 victory in 66 minutes.<\/p>\n
A second convincing win in the space of two days marks progress for the American at SW19 after she suffered a surprise exit in the first round last year.<\/p>\n
“Overall, I just learned about life a lot. I guess you do as you get older,” the 20-year-old said.<\/p>\n
“I realised what I do, yes I’m passionate about, but it’s not that serious and sometimes the world can make you feel like there’s so much pressure, so much expectation.<\/p>\n
“At the end of the day, it’s a game, it’s a sport and I’m very privileged to be playing out here.”<\/p>\n
Todoni, 19, came into Wednesday’s match on the back of a dominant win – and her first victory in a Grand Slam – over fellow qualifier Olga Danilovic, of Serbia.<\/p>\n
But she faced a tougher opponent in US Open winner Gauff, who is among the favourites to go the distance at this year’s Wimbledon.<\/p>\n
After dropping serve early, Todoni couldn’t make the most of any chances to break back.<\/p>\n
It was an uphill task from there for Todoni, who struggled to absorb Gauff’s powerful ball striking and won just three points on her opponent’s serve.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
