Briton Caroline Dubois will face Maira Moneo for the WBC ‘interim’ lightweight world title at Barnsley’s Oakwell Stadium on Saturday, 3 August.<\/b><\/p>\n
Dubois, 23, has also signed a long-term agreement with promotional outfit Boxxer.<\/p>\n
The Londoner \u2013 who will put her IBO title on the line against Uruguayan Moneo \u2013 is targeting a future bout against undisputed world champion Katie Taylor.<\/p>\n
“I\u2019m ready to announce myself on the big stage. I want to be world champion,” Dubois said.<\/p>\n
“I want to unify the division. I want to be undisputed and then I want to move up in weight.”<\/p>\n
Pound-for-pound star Taylor holds all four recognised world titles in the division. The Irishwoman is set to defend her belts against Amanda Serrano in November.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter this fight, I will be on a collision course with Katie Taylor,” added Dubois.<\/p>\n
“I will be the interim champion, her mandatory and unless she vacates, we\u2019re fighting next.\u201d<\/p>\n
Moneo, 31, has lost once in 15 professional fights.<\/p>\n
The contest will take place on the undercard of the British and Commonwealth title fight<\/a> between super-middleweight Zak Chelli and Callum Simpson at Barnsley Football Club’s stadium.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
