Maddie Meyer\/Getty Images<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\nSwimmer Ollie Morgan will return to university to finish his studies now his Olympics is over.<\/p>\n Morgan came 4th at Paris 2024 with Team GB in the men’s 4x100m medley relay, and finished 8th in the 100m backstroke final.<\/p>\n The 21-year-old from Bishops Castle, Shropshire, will finish his final year studying sport, physical education and coaching sciences at the University of Birmingham. <\/p>\n “Once he knew he was definitely going to Paris, the university let him stop his degree, until September,” said dad Matt Morgan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n “He’s going to finish his last year and get it out of the way,” he told BBC Radio Shropshire. <\/p>\n Next on the agenda is the 2025 Aquatics GB Swimming Championships, held in London in April.<\/p>\n It is the key selection event for the World Aquatics Championships, which are held in Singapore later next year.<\/p>\n “British champs is more nerve wracking for me than actually going to the Olympics or worlds,” said Mr Morgan.<\/p>\n “Because if you don\u2019t make British champs, you don\u2019t get there.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Mr Morgan said his son’s Olympic journey had been amazing.<\/p>\n “The bigger the scene, the more he enjoys it, and that\u2019s what makes a good athlete,” he said.<\/p>\n “If you can cope with the pressure at the big events, that’s when you make your name.<\/p>\n “He’s met up with Andy Murray, and Andy Murray actually asked the medley relay team for a photograph, he found that a bit of a weird one.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n‘Andy Murray photo’<\/h2>\n<\/p>\n
