Ulster prop Marty Moore has retired from professional rugby on medical advice “to prioritise his mental wellbeing”.<\/b><\/p>\n
The 33-year-old played 94 times for Ulster after joining the United Rugby Championship side in 2018.<\/p>\n
Prior to moving to Belfast, Moore came through the ranks at Leinster and spent two seasons in England with Wasps.<\/p>\n
Moore won 10 Ireland caps and helped Joe Schmidt’s side to Six Nations titles in 2014 and 2015.<\/p>\n
Ulster said that Moore took his decision to retire with “the full support of the club”.<\/p>\n
Bryn Cunningham, head of rugby operations and recruitment at Ulster, said Moore should be celebrated for “an outstanding career”.<\/p>\n
“I think we can safely say that Ulster saw the best of Marty through a distinguished career where he became a cornerstone of the team,” Cunningham said.<\/p>\n
“We wish Marty, and his family, the best for his future and we will continue to support him in every way possible. <\/p>\n
“He can hold his head high as one of the Ulster men who made the province his home and made a huge contribution on the pitch.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
