Australia’s Tim David hit a quickfire 62 not out to give Hobart Hurricanes a five-wicket win over Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League.<\/b><\/p>\n
David, who has played in 40 T20 internationals for Australia, hit three fours and six sixes in his 28-ball innings.<\/p>\n
Jamie Overton <\/b>went wicketless for 54 runs off three overs, with David scoring 25 of the 26 hit from the Surrey all-rounder’s third over as the Hurricanes chased down a target of 187 with eight balls to spare.<\/p>\n
A brisk 27 off 18 deliveries from Overton had helped the Strikers post 186-5, with England Test vice-captain Ollie Pope making 33 while Chris Lynn top-scored with 49.<\/p>\n
David’s assault on Overton’s bowling proved to be pivotal, with another England international, Chris Jordan, hitting the winning runs when he clipped Brendan Doggett off his legs to the boundary.<\/p>\n
The Hurricanes’ fourth consecutive win moves them into third place in the Big Bash League behind leaders Sydney Sixers and second-placed Sydney Thunder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
