Bournemouth striker Enes Unal has suffered a tear to the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during a training session, the club have confirmed. <\/b><\/p>\n
Unal, 27, signed for the Cherries permanently from Getafe on a four-year deal<\/a> last summer, having joined on loan in the January transfer window. <\/p>\n The Turkey international, who has made 17 appearances this season and scored two goals, picked up the contact injury in a routine drill on Tuesday. <\/p>\n Unal joins Bournemouth’s record signing Evanilson on the sidelines, after the Brazilian striker had surgery on his broken foot.<\/a><\/p>\n “First and foremost, our thoughts are with Enes at this moment as he begins to process another significant period of rehabilitation ahead,” the club said in a statement., external<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n “He will undergo surgery to repair the ligament in the coming days and the club’s medical and performance staff will support him in every way possible throughout.”<\/p>\n This is the second time Unal has faced a lengthy spell out with a serious injury, as he also damaged his ACL while at Spanish side Getafe and missed the first half of the 2023-24 La Liga season. <\/p>\n
