Gloucester have put their “best foot forward” to keep Argentina full-back Santiago Carreras amid speculation about him leaving the club this summer, director of rugby George Skivington has said.<\/b><\/p>\n
Versatile Carreras has been with the Cherry and Whites since December 2020, initially playing in both wing positions, and has made more than 75 appearances.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old, who can also play at fly-half, has been one of Gloucester’s stand-out players in recent seasons and scored his fourth try of the campaign in the win against Leicester<\/a> on Saturday.<\/p>\n “I haven’t got any comments on the future of Santi,” Skivington told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.<\/p>\n “It’s up to Santi what he does, we’ve put our best foot forward and that will be up to Santi.”<\/p>\n Carreras has been capped 53 times by the Pumas since his debut in 2019.<\/p>\n “He’s obviously a man in demand and certain things come with that and that’s the nature of the beast,” Skivington added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
