Britain’s Anna Morris broke the individual pursuit world record twice in one day as she claimed gold at the European Track Cycling Championships in Heusden-Zolder, Belgium.<\/b><\/p>\n
The Welshwoman first set a new world record time in the qualifiers, clocking four minutes 28.306 seconds.<\/p>\n
She then bettered that in the final, clocking 4:25.874 to beat Italy’s Vittoria Guazzini and become the first woman to win the European title in its new 4km format.<\/p>\n
Compatriot Sophie Lewis finished sixth in the same event.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Neah Evans was eighth in the new women’s kilo event, with debutant Iona Moir 18th, and Grace Lister finished fifth in the women’s points race.<\/p>\n
Noah Hobbs settled for ninth place in the omnium.<\/p>\n
Great Britain are third in the medal table with 10 in total, including two golds, four silver and four bronze.<\/p>\n
The competition ends on Sunday, with British competitors in the madison and keirin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
