Jersey champions Farmers hope to begin their bid for glory at the European Cricket League finals on Wednesday after rain washed out the first two days.<\/b><\/p>\n
Farmers had been due to open the final group stage of the 10-overs-a-side tournament against defending champions Hornchurch on Monday before taking on Italian team Roma and Swiss outfit Zurich Nomads on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
But torrential overnight rain prevented any play at the Cartama Oval, in Spain, on Monday and left the pitch unfit for play on the second day of the finals stage.<\/p>\n
Wet weather had also wiped out the final qualifying rounds last Thursday as Farmers topped their group with a perfect record of four wins from four.<\/p>\n
The Jersey side are now due to play their delayed matches with Hornchurch, Roma and Zurich on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Matches follow against Darmstadt, of Germany, Skanderborg (Denmark) and Dutch side Voorburg on Thursday ahead of the weekend semi-finals and final.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
