Warwickshire are hopeful that England all-rounder Chris Woakes will be fit to play again in the near future.<\/b><\/p>\n
The 36-year-old has been troubled by an ankle injury since appearing in South Africa’s domestic T20 competition in January.<\/p>\n
He has been practising at Edgbaston under the supervision of England strength and conditioning staff but will miss the County Championship match with Yorkshire, which starts at Headingley on Friday.<\/p>\n
“It’s great to see him with us in the nets and he will continue to build up. He’s not ready for the Yorkshire trip and I wouldn’t like to put a timeframe on it,” said Bears first-team coach Ian Westwood.<\/p>\n
“We’ll just have to wait and see how he keeps progressing over the next few days and we’ll keep reviewing how he’s doing.”<\/p>\n
Overseas signing Tom Latham is due to arrive from New Zealand next week after recovering from a broken hand.<\/p>\n
And seam bowler Chris Rushworth is continuing his rehab following a calf problem which has prevented him playing so far this season.<\/p>\n
Warwickshire are fifth in Championship Division One, with one win and two draws.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
