{"id":29939,"date":"2025-05-17T19:28:15","date_gmt":"2025-05-17T19:28:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kede.com.br\/sport\/super-league-basketball-final-leicester-and-newcastle-out-to-rule-again\/"},"modified":"2025-05-17T19:28:16","modified_gmt":"2025-05-17T19:28:16","slug":"super-league-basketball-final-leicester-and-newcastle-out-to-rule-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kede.com.br\/sport\/super-league-basketball-final-leicester-and-newcastle-out-to-rule-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Super League Basketball final: Leicester and Newcastle out to rule again"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Newcastle are aiming for their second trophy of the season, having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/basketball\/articles\/c9w5y2n90nzo\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">won the SLB Trophy in January<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Last month, they were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/basketball\/articles\/c5yppzy3w30o\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">runners-up<\/a> in the European North Basketball League as they fell just short in their attempt to add a first European title to their domestic successes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Despite finishing fifth in the regular-season table, they have found form in the play-offs as they edged past Manchester in the quarter-finals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">And they impressively beat London Lions, champions last season, home and away to qualify for the O2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Head coach Marc Steutel knows all about the Eagles&#8217; historic successes, and wants to write a new chapter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We&#8217;re a club that is built on a lot of history and a lot of legacy,&#8221; he told BBC Look North.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s important our players understand that, but the challenge every year is you&#8217;re trying to build your own legacy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;This group has done that in abundance.
