{"id":33191,"date":"2025-08-07T16:55:04","date_gmt":"2025-08-07T16:55:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kede.com.br\/sport\/thomas-partey-former-arsenal-midfielder-joins-villarreal\/"},"modified":"2025-08-07T16:55:07","modified_gmt":"2025-08-07T16:55:07","slug":"thomas-partey-former-arsenal-midfielder-joins-villarreal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kede.com.br\/sport\/thomas-partey-former-arsenal-midfielder-joins-villarreal\/","title":{"rendered":"Thomas Partey: Former Arsenal midfielder joins Villarreal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\"><b class=\"ssrcss-1xjjfut-BoldText e5tfeyi3\">Ghana international Thomas Partey has joined La Liga club Villarreal following his release from Arsenal.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The 32-year-old, who signed for Arsenal in a \u00a345m deal from Atletico Madrid in 2020, left the Gunners when his contract expired at the end of June.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Four days later, Partey was charged with five counts of rape against two women and a charge of sexual assault against a third woman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Partey, who denies the charges, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c39zr7y9ep3o\" class=\"ssrcss-k8mrr8-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\">was granted conditional bail<\/a> on Tuesday at Westminster Magistrates&#8217; Court. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Under the conditions of the bail, Partey must not contact any of the three women and must notify police of any permanent changes of address or international travel.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">In a statement, Villarreal said: &#8220;The club is aware that the player is currently involved in legal proceedings in England.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The player firmly maintains his innocence and denies all charges against him.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;The club respects the fundamental principle of the presumption of innocence and will await the outcome of the judicial process, which will be responsible for clarifying the facts of the case.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Due to the law in England in relation to the ongoing proceedings the club is unable to comment further.&#8221;  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/sport\/football\/articles\/crm4k3r0m0no?at_medium=RSS&#038;at_campaign=rss\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ghana international Thomas Partey has joined La Liga club Villarreal following his release from Arsenal.
