In the series, Ferrero appeared frustrated with his protege’s application at certain times and questioned his decision to go to Ibiza after winning the French Open in 2024 – against the advice of Ferrero and his agent Molina.<\/p>\n
But, after Alcaraz won this year’s US Open in a performance which he described as the best of his career, Ferrero praised the player’s growing maturity.<\/p>\n
Alcaraz’s mind has been known to wander during matches, so it was striking how his laser-focused performances in New York helped him find another level.<\/p>\n
Ferrero’s constant presence – offering subtle instruction during matches and demanding strict discipline at all times – was key.<\/p>\n
But it appears Alcaraz, despite having the finest season of his career, has decided he needs another direction.<\/p>\n
The timing is curious, given sources say Ferrero wanted to continue and has not left for personal reasons.<\/p>\n
How Alcaraz will evolve without his long-time mentor promises to be one of the most fascinating storylines of 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
