Two-time Olympic taekwondo champion Jade Jones will make her boxing debut in March.<\/b><\/p>\n
The 32-year-old former Team GB star will take on American celebrity Egypt Criss in Derby on Saturday, 7 March on the undercard of a bout between middleweights Ty Mitchell and Gabe Rosado.<\/p>\n
Welsh fighter Jones will be in the boxing ring for the first time exactly 12 months since announcing her change of sports.<\/a><\/p>\n She became a star of the 2012 London Olympics by winning taekwondo gold at the age of 19 and went on to defend her title four years later in Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n Jones also competed at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and in Paris three years later, became world champion in 2019 and is a three-time European champion.<\/p>\n Criss, 27, is the daughter of hip-hop stars Anthony ‘Treach’ Criss from Naughty by Nature and Sandra ‘Pepa’ Denton from Salt-N-Pepa.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
