Tony Romo, the former star quarterback for the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, has been arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated, police said.<\/b><\/p>\n
Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office said Romo was pulled over around 18:00 local time (23:00 GMT) in Wisconsin on Thursday, and was arrested after he performed poorly on field sobriety tests.<\/p>\n
He was released later that night and ordered to appear in court on 21 September.<\/p>\n
Romo now works as a football commentator for broadcaster CBS, which has not commented on his arrest.<\/p>\n
According to local media, it is his first offence related to operating a vehicle while intoxicated. If found guilty, he could have his driver’s licence suspended and be required to pay a fine. <\/p>\n
Romo played for the Cowboys from 2003 to 2016, passing to score 248 touchdowns in his career. He is also known for dating singer Jessica Simpson from 2007 to 2009. <\/p>\n
He is originally from the city of Burlington, Wisconsin, 30 miles (48km) southwest of Milwaukee.<\/p>\n
Since 2017, he has worked as a game analyst for CBS. In 2011, he married model Candice Crawford, and the couple have three children.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
