The Jersey swimmer has been part of his AP Race group and said it was special to be training and racing alongside his idol.<\/p>\n
“I’ve always looked up to him ever since I was eight, nine, 10 years old when he won his first Olympics in Rio and then again in Tokyo,” Nowacki said.<\/p>\n
“He had a great performance in Paris as well, so I’ve looked up to him for a very, very long time.<\/p>\n
“The first time I actually raced him was in Paris at the Olympic trials and I was in a final with him and also Max Morgan.<\/p>\n
“We were just the two random kids no-one’s ever heard of, 14, 15 years old, and I remember Adam came up to me and Max and gave us both a fist bump and we looked at each other and we were like ‘what had just happened’ and were just completely speechless.<\/p>\n
“But now to be racing up against him and and giving him a proper race is very special.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
