Beau Greaves made darts history by becoming the first woman to win a match on the European Tour.<\/b><\/p>\n
The 22-year-old, who was edged out 6-5 by Rob Cross<\/a> on her European Tour debut in Hungary last week, beat Daryl Gurney 6-4 in the Czech Open.<\/p>\n Gurney beat Greaves in a deciding set in their first-round match at the PDC World Championship in December and he moved into a 3-1 lead in Prague.<\/p>\n However, Greaves reeled off three straight legs with 14, 13 and 11-dart finishes to go 4-3 in front and, even though Gurney levelled at 4-4, she went on to take victory and become the first female winner in the European Tour’s 15-year history. <\/p>\n “It feels amazing,” said Greaves, who will play world number two Luke Humphries in the second round on Saturday.<\/p>\n “It’s just so nice to win a game, I was so nervous at the start, I don’t know why. It took me so long to get settled, but luckily I did enough to win the game.<\/p>\n “It means loads to me, the crowd’s fantastic. It’s such a tight stage and you feel so much from the crowd. I’m really enjoying it and loving the experience.”<\/p>\n It is the latest in a list of achievements for Doncaster’s Greaves which include her becoming the first woman to win a PDC ranking title<\/a> when she beat Michael Smith in April.<\/p>\n She is also the first woman to hit a nine-dart finish on the PDC ProTour,<\/a> having done so in a win against Mensur Suljovic in February.<\/p>\n
