Nottingham Forest have signed Ghana captain and free agent Andre Ayew until the end of the season.<\/span><\/p>\n The 33-year-old forward was without a club following his exit from Qatari outfit Al Sadd after spending two years with the Middle Eastern club.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Ayew turned down Forest’s Premier League rivals Everton before the January transfer window closed.<\/span><\/p>\n The former Swansea and West Ham player is Forest’s 29th signing since their return to the Premier League. <\/span><\/p>\n “It’s a great feeling to sign for Nottingham Forest,” said Ayew.<\/span><\/p>\n “I know how big the club is and I know how much the club means to the city and the fanbase. It’s always been difficult whenever I’ve played against Forest and at The City Ground and I love the stadium.<\/span><\/p>\n “I know what I can bring to the team, I’m ready to give my all and make sure that we are able to stay in the Premier League.”<\/span><\/p>\n Forest boss Steve Cooper knows the Ayew well, having worked with him in Wales, and his arrival will help cover injuries to Taiwo Awoniyi, Morgan Gibbs-White and Jesse Lingard.<\/span><\/p>\n “Steve Cooper is someone who knows me very well and knows how to work with me both on and off the pitch,” added Ayew. <\/span><\/p>\n “We have a strong relationship, he’s a special coach and a special human being and someone who I really look up to.”<\/span><\/p>\n Ayew, whose career began at Marseille, had two spells with Swansea either side of his two-year stay with the Hammers. <\/span><\/p>\n
