In her first broadcast interview, a former X Factor contestant has revealed that she was raped which led to her leaving the competition.

Lucy Spraggan, who was a favourite to win X Factor in 2012, has written a book about her experience and told BBC News her time on the show was “like an abusive relationship”.

She told BBC correspondent Chi Chi Izundu she is calling for industry change to better protect people taking part in reality TV.
