Roedd Michael a Kerry Ives wedi gwadu mai nhw oedd yn gyfrifol am farwolaeth Ethan gan honni mai eu merch, Shannon, oedd ar fai am ei anafiadau.

Dywedodd Shannon fod arni eu hofn.

Ond yn ôl yr erlyniad, roedd Shannon Ives yn ymwybodol ei fod mewn perygl, a’i bod hi “wedi gwneud dim i’w amddiffyn rhag y risg honno”.

Tra’n derbyn ei bod yn wynebu carchar, clywodd y llys ddydd Gwener fod ganddi broblemau gyda deallusrwydd, gorbryder, iechyd meddwl a bod ei gallu academaidd yn isel.

Ond wrth eu dedfrydu, dywedodd y barnwr nad oedd wedi gweld unrhyw edifeirwch a’i fod yn sicr bod bwriad gan Michael a Kerry Ives i ladd y bachgen bach.

Tra mai Michael, meddai, oedd yn gyfrifol am y mwyafrif o’r trais yn erbyn Ethan, ychwanegodd fod Kerry a Shannon wedi’u gweld yn taro’r plentyn.

“Roedd Shannon yn gwybod bod ei rhieni gyda’r gallu i gam-drin plant, oherwydd dyna oedd ei phrofiad hi wrth dyfu i fyny.

“Roedd Shannon yn gwybod nad oedd Ethan yn ddiogel gyda’i rhieni.”
