Georgia Voll smashed her maiden century for Australia as they cruised to a 122-run victory over India in the second one-day international to clinch the series.

The 21-year-old opener, playing in her second ODI, hit 12 fours in her knock of 101 off 87 balls as Australia posted 371-8.

Ellyse Perry also reached three figures as she made a sublime 105 off 75 balls, striking six sixes – the most by an Australian in a single women’s ODI innings.

Phoebe Litchfield and Beth Mooney chipped in with 60 and 56 respectively, although India battled back to take five wickets in the final six overs.

Saima Thakor was the pick of India’s bowling attack as she collected 3-62.

Opener Richa Ghosh made a patient half-century as she anchored the India reply, but had already seen Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol fall cheaply by the time she was bowled by Alana King for 54.

Jemimah Rodrigues offered some resistance for the tourists with a breezy 43 from 39 balls while all-rounder Minnu Mani hit a defiant 46 not out – in addition to figures of 2-71 – on her ODI debut.

However, all-rounder Annabel Sutherland polished off the India tail, en route to 4-39 as the tourists were dismissed for 249 with 31 balls unused.

Australia’s victory gave them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series with the final match at the WACA in Perth on 11 December.

“Georgia Voll’s hundred was obviously the highlight, but everyone in the top four did their job and it was pretty nice just to sit back and watch,” said Australia captain Tahlia McGrath.

“I thought [Voll] played some lovely drives down the ground early and just looked completely comfortable. I wasn’t sure how they were going to get her out.”

India skipper Kaur added: “We need to bat a bit longer and bat a full 50 overs moving forward. We had a few 40s but couldn’t convert it to fifty or hundred.”
