Filip Nowacki says winning his first British senior title is “absolutely surreal”.
The 18-year-old from Jersey won the 200m breaststroke at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in London.
The World Junior champion added to the silver medals he won after coming second behind former Olympic champion Adam Peaty over 50m and 100m earlier in the Championships.
His times also ensured he qualified to represent Great Britain in all three breaststroke distances at the European Championships in Paris.
“I think it’s good that the hard work is slowly starting to pay off, and it was great to win,” he told BBC Radio Jersey.
“I’ve had a couple of PBs this week and a couple that were just slightly off.
“But having said that, I’m miles ahead of where I was last year this time in the season, so I’m very happy.”
