Leicester stalwart Harry Wells is to leave the club at the end of the season after a 13-year Tigers career.

The second row, who came through the Leicester academy, was part of the Tigers side that won the Premiership title at Twickenham in 2022 and also lifted the Prem Rugby Cup earlier this season.

“It has been the most fantastic place to work and play rugby,” the 32-year-old, who won one England cap against Canada, told the club website, external.

“My time at the club has been exceptionally special. We’ve faced tough times as a club, there were periods where we were towards the lower end of the table but we rebuilt.

“The memories I have created over this time have been something I will take with me forever.”

Leicester head coach Geoff Parling paid tribute to Wells who has played 236 games for the Tigers.

“Wellsy epitomises what it means to be a Tigers player – hard working, tough, does the basics well and everything is for the good of the team,” said Parling.

“From coming through the academy, to then playing well over 200 games in the shirt and getting to run out for England is testament to his dedication and character.

“We wish him the best in the next chapter, and he can leave the club proud in what he has achieved and how he has gone about his business.”
