The first international game will take place during the first week of the season, with the Los Angeles Rams facing divisional rivals San Francisco at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground.

The 49ers will also face the Minnesota Vikings as the NFL returns to Mexico, while the Baltimore Ravens meet the Dallas Cowboys in the league’s first game in Rio de Janeiro.

There will be three games in continental Europe, with the New Orleans Saints facing the Pittsburgh Steelers as the Stade de France plays host to the first game in Paris.

The Cincinnati Bengals then face the Atlanta Falcons at the home of Real Madrid while the New England Patriots, who reached last season’s Super Bowl, will take on the Detroit Lions in Munich.

“When you see it on paper, the iconic stadiums that we’re going to be playing in around the world, the incredible teams that are going to be involved and the amazing players, it’s really exciting,” said Henry Hodgson, general manager at NFL UK and Ireland, told BBC Sport.

“The Eagles are only a year removed from being Super Bowl champions, they’re a really successful, high-powered team against a Jags team that probably wants to get to that point quickly after a great season last year.

“It’s been relatively rare to have divisional match-ups played overseas so for the Jags to be hosting the Texans at Wembley could be a really pivotal game.”

The rest of the NFL’s 2026 schedule will be released on Thursday.
